1936 Qld Forestry Dept issued a sawmill licence to EH Gray
1939 Upgraded and rebuilt sawmill closer to the sugar mill tram line
1941 Brownsey and Downs arrived with bullock teams to haul logs from Mt Pluto
1942 Purchased sawmill licence held by Barr of Cannonvale
1942 Allied Works Commission impressed and removed the sawmill to Cape York and EH Gray was requisitioned to Jacky Jacky (Bamaga) to operate the sawmill during WWII
1946 New mill constructed in Mann Street Proserpine
1951 Purchase of Dibbens mill at Brandy Creek
1954-63 Business operated by EN Woodman and Co of Mackay
1964 EJ Gray rejoins his father in the business
1965 Acquisition of Mackay Lumber Company
1980 Overhaul of the mill resulting in the most modern and efficient mill in North Queensland
1980s End of rainforest logging in the Whitsundays; Jeanette Gray joins the business
1991 Building of mill in Charters Towers – operated for 13 years before being destroyed by fire
1993 Started exporting to New Zealand, the Pacific Islands and Japan; working with Bill McPhee from the Australian Heavy Hardwood Company
2004 Started importing timber from PNG, the Solomon Islands and the South Pacific
2005 Extended the Timber Truss Plant to construct larger trusses for new homes
