Appearance:

Heartwood pink brown to red brown. Similar to Pacific Maple. Sapwood pale pink and not always distinct from heartwood. Grain usually interlocked with ribbon figure on radial face. Texture coarse but even.

Finishing: Finishes well. Accepts stains, polishes and paints.
