Appearance:

Heartwood - yellow - golden brown through to dark brown. Sapwood - pale yellow and distinct from heartwood. Grain can be interlocked moderately course but even. Vessels contain a yellow substance which stains concrete. Contact with steel produces a black stain. Timber is greasy to touch.

Finishing: Sanding dust can be an irritant. Accepts stains and paints.
